Jim Ratcliffe has entered the bidding to buy Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of Britain's richest men, has confirmed he has entered the bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family. The Ineos chairman, whose 2020 fortune is estimated at $28.2 billion, is a lifelong Manchester United supporter from Greater Manchester.
The petrochemical billionaire owns the Tour de France-winning cycling team, which he took over from Team Sky and handed over £4.25 billion to Chelsea before Todd Burley and Clearlake Capital completed their takeover. The Glazer family has owned United since 2005, but announced in November that they were considering a sale when they said they were "beginning the process of exploring strategic alternatives."
United's revenue for the 2021-22 season is £583.2 million, but they have a net loss of £115.5 million and debts in excess of £500 million.
