Match Preview
The American team has been impressive in this tournament and is clearly going for gold. A USA-Spain final seems very likely. Up to the quarterfinals, the U.S. team not only beat their opponents but also scored at least two goals in each game. It was only in the quarterfinals that they faced a strong Japanese defense, winning only in extra time. The winning goal, which needed a VAR check because of a possible offside, was scored by Trinity Rodman, the daughter of basketball star Dennis Rodman. Now, the USA is just one step away from the Olympic final.

In the group stage, the Germans easily beat Australia and Zambia, who were clearly not as good. But they struggled against the Americans and were already losing 3-1 by halftime. Their biggest test came in the quarterfinals against Canada. The match ended in a goalless draw after regular and extra time, with Germany winning only after a penalty shootout. The Germans played very defensively, with only one shot on target the whole match. They will probably try the same strategy in the semifinals.

Goaloo Prediction
Looking at past meetings and results from this tournament, the Americans seem to have a clear advantage. However, this is a playoff match, and it will determine who advances to the Olympic final, which means the pre-match predictions might not hold true. The German team demonstrated in the quarterfinals that they can play a defensive game and still get the result they want. We think the match could end 1-1. For our final bet, we’re going with Germany to win with a +1 handicap.
