Warriors Expected to Pursue Jimmy Butler in Three-Team Trade

The Golden State Warriors have emerged as a leading contender for Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, and for good reason. As a major market team, the Warriors possess the assets necessary to acquire and extend the six-time All-Star. However, the challenge lies in the youth of these assets, which Heat president Pat Riley may not favor. To facilitate the trade, a third team might be required.
Former NBA Coach of the Year Sam Mitchell suggested that the Heat could target Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox in a potential three-team blockbuster. “If you’re the Miami Heat and Pat Riley, do you really want to deal with Jimmy Butler at $52 million, especially with him set to become an unrestricted free agent?” Mitchell posed on NBA TV. “That would be a nightmare scenario, so I believe he will be moved. With the current situation in Sacramento, don’t be surprised if a Fox ends up in Miami.”
Steve Smith echoed Mitchell’s sentiment, stating he envisions a three-team deal where the Warriors acquire Butler, the Heat get Fox, and the Kings embark on a rebuild, gaining a wealth of assets from Miami.
