Gimenez Holds Out for Milan After Turning Down Forest's Offer

Santiago Gimenez has expressed his excitement when AC Milan showed interest in him last summer, but Feyenoord rejected their offer, which was lower than the one made by Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old Mexican forward is now pushing for a move to Milan this month, with reports suggesting he has already agreed to personal terms with the club.
However, Feyenoord is not keen on selling Gimenez in the current transfer window, and discussions between the two clubs are ongoing. Milan had previously approached the player last summer, but at that time, Gimenez turned down Forest's offer, opting to wait for a potentially better opportunity.
Gimenez explained that Feyenoord was not convinced by Forest's offer, and although other clubs showed interest, he decided to stay with Feyenoord and see what unfolded. When Milan finally came in with an offer on the final day of the summer transfer window, it was significantly lower than Forest's, and the Dutch club decided against selling him. Gimenez understood the decision but was excited by the prospect of joining Milan.
In the January transfer window, Milan made a second attempt, reportedly offering close to €30 million, though some reports suggest it was around €20 million plus a percentage of his future transfer fee. Feyenoord, however, has set a €40 million price tag on the striker.
Gimenez has been in strong form this season, scoring 15 goals in 18 appearances. His Mexican nationality won’t affect his potential move to Milan as he holds an Italian passport, which means he wouldn't count toward their non-EU player limit.
