Messi and Suárez Fined by MLS for Conduct Violations
Major League Soccer (MLS)
has officially announced that Lionel Messi has been fined for violating regulations following the first round of matches, although the amount of the fine has not been disclosed.

After the 2-2 draw between Inter Miami and New York City FC last week, Messi expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions and had a brief theoretical discussion with New York City assistant coach Baruchi. Following this, Messi covered his mouth and grabbed the neck of the opposing assistant coach.

According to an MLS press release, Messi was fined for violating the rules regarding contact with an opponent's face, head, or neck, receiving the minimum standard fine.

Luis Suárez was also fined for a similar infraction, though the fine amount has not been revealed. It is reported that during a small altercation in the first half of the match, Suárez grabbed New York City defender Birk Risa by the back of the neck.
