​Inter Milan cruised into the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a dominant 2-0 victory over Lazio

Inter Milan cruised into the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a dominant 2-0 victory over Lazio at the San Siro on Tuesday.  Marko Arnautovic stole the show with a breathtaking volley just before halftime, connecting perfectly with a headed clearance from a corner to send the ball soaring into the net from outside the box.  The stunning strike is an early contender for goal of the season.

Despite the spectacular finish, Arnautovic remained humble, emphasizing the team's success over individual accolades. "What matters for Inter also matters for me," he told Mediaset. "The most important thing is winning the match."

Lazio attempted to rally in the second half, with Gustav Isaksen coming close to equalizing just before the hour mark.  However, Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez proved equal to the challenge, deflecting Isaksen's shot with his foot.

Inter secured their semi-final berth in the 77th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu calmly converted a penalty after Samuel Gigot fouled Joaquin Correa. Calhanoglu sent Lazio keeper Christos Mandas the wrong way.

This marks Inter's fifth Coppa Italia semi-final appearance in the last six seasons, highlighting their consistent presence in the competition.  They now face a tough challenge against city rivals AC Milan in a two-legged semi-final clash in April.  Milan have had the better of the recent encounters between the two sides, including a victory in the Italian Super Cup final earlier this year.  However, Inter midfielder Piotr Zielinski exuded confidence, stating, "Last season we beat Milan many times, we will be ready and we will think about it when the match arrives."

The other semi-final will see the winner of Wednesday's Juventus versus Empoli match face Bologna.
