Manchester City's bid for European qualification took a hit as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion at home. Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush found the net for the champions, but a Pervis Estupinan strike and a crucial Abdukodir Khusanov own goal levelled the score. The result leaves City fifth in the Premier League with 48 points from 29 games, while Brighton sit just behind in seventh.  

Pep Guardiola acknowledged the tight contest, stating, "The players gave everything, we take the point and keep on going." Despite the setback, he maintained his confidence. Brighton's Jack Hinshelwood praised his team's belief, noting, "When you come to Man City, it’s a tough place to come." The draw ended Brighton's four-game winning streak, but they demonstrated their resilience against the reigning champions.
