March 28 News: TalkSport Updates on Liverpool's Contract Situations with Salah and Van Dijk

According to British media outlet TalkSport, Liverpool is optimistic about renewing contracts with two key players, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
The report states that Salah's current contract is set to expire this summer, but he has yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool regarding new terms. Meanwhile, clubs from Saudi Arabia and various parts of Europe have shown increasing interest in him.
TalkSport reveals that despite Salah being a major target for the Saudi league, he has not actively engaged in discussions regarding a move to Saudi Arabia. In 2023, Al-Ittihad reportedly offered a transfer fee of up to £150 million for Salah, but this proposal was quickly rejected by Liverpool.
Salah has not taken any steps this season to quell speculation about his future. Last November, when asked about his prospects, he commented that "the possibility of leaving is greater than staying."
Given the current situation, Liverpool is feeling optimistic about Salah remaining in Merseyside. This season, he has been among the top scorers and assist providers in the Premier League, netting 27 goals and providing 17 assists, just a step away from the single-season assist record in the league.
Additionally, with the club's main right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, set to leave for Real Madrid on a free transfer, Liverpool is hopeful that both Salah and captain Van Dijk will continue to stay at Anfield after this summer.
