Manchester United Set to Offload Antony for £40m in Summer Overhaul

Manchester United are poised to sell Brazilian winger Antony for £40m this summer as part of a major squad transformation under new manager Ruben Amorim. The 24-year-old, who joined United from Ajax in 2022 for £86m, has struggled to justify his price tag, managing just 12 goals in 96 appearances. Currently on loan at Real Betis, Antony has shown signs of resurgence, attracting interest from Atlético Madrid and several Italian clubs, according to The i Paper Sport.
Amorim, who took over at Old Trafford with a vision for a youthful, high-pressing team, is driving the overhaul. The £40m from Antony’s potential transfer would help fund new signings to fit his dynamic system. This move aligns with broader plans to reshape the squad, with players like Kobbie Mainoo, potentially valued at £70m, and Alejandro Garnacho also rumored to be on the exit list due to tactical mismatches. Up to ten players, including Marcus Rashford, could leave as Amorim prioritizes peak fitness and energy. While Antony’s recent form at Betis has earned praise, his departure from United seems imminent as the club looks to rebuild for the future.
