Manchester United Eye Striker Liam Delap Amid Transfer Talks

Manchester United have initiated face-to-face talks with a Premier League striker regarding a potential summer move. Manager Ruben Amorim is keen to enhance the team's attacking options, as the Red Devils have scored only 42 goals in the Premier League this season.
The player in question has a £30 million release clause, making him an attractive target. Just hours earlier, news broke that United are close to signing Wolves star Matheus Cunha. While United have yet to approach Wolves about the £62.5 million payment terms for Cunha, no issues are expected.
It’s anticipated that United will secure Cunha and their preferred striker regardless of the outcome in the Europa League final against Tottenham this week. Reports from The Athletic indicate that United have held discussions with Liam Delap about a possible transfer.
Despite Ipswich's relegation, Delap impressed by scoring 12 goals in 35 league matches. He has been permitted to travel to Manchester to explore a potential move to United and will weigh his options before making a decision.
Delap began his senior career at Manchester City, making six appearances, and has had loan spells at Stoke, Preston, and Hull. His £30 million release clause has been activated following Ipswich's relegation.
Other attacking options under consideration for United include Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting, and Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
An England Under-21 international, Delap is seen as a promising talent for both club and country. United recognizes the need for significant improvements, currently sitting in 16th place in the Premier League. Following the Europa League final against Tottenham, they will finish their Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa on Sunday.
