Manchester City Set to Sign Rayan Aït-Nouri for £45M in Summer Revamp

Manchester City are poised to secure the signing of Wolves’ star left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri for a reported £45 million, as part of their summer squad overhaul. The 23-year-old Algerian defender, who has impressed since joining Wolves from Angers in 2020, has reportedly given the green light to the move, with negotiations between the clubs set to advance soon. City see Aït-Nouri as a key target, valuing his attacking flair and versatility, with 2024/25 Premier League stats showing 7 assists and 36 chances created—outshining Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, whom City also considered.
Wolves, however, are holding out for a fee closer to £50 million, as Aït-Nouri’s contract nears its final year, though they hold an option to extend it by 12 months. The club, already reeling from the £62.5M sale of Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, hopes to retain captain Nélson Semedo, whose contract expires this summer. City’s push for Aït-Nouri aligns with chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak’s directive to complete major signings before the Club World Cup on June 18, 2025, following a less aggressive transfer window last year. Fans eagerly await confirmation of this exciting transfer.
