According to the tournament's tie-breaking rules for teams level on points, the following criteria apply in order:Points earned in head-to-head matches among the tied teamsGoal difference in head-to-head matches among the tied teamsGoals scored in head-to-head matches among the tied teamsIf still tied, overall goal difference and goals scored in all group matches are compared, followed by fair play points if necessary.Since all three teams had identical head-to-head records (1 win, 1 loss), Paris Saint-Germain secured first place in the group due to a superior goal difference, advancing to the Round of 16 as Group B winners. Despite losing 0-1 to Atlético Madrid in their final group match, Botafogo also progressed as the second-place team thanks to their goal difference. Atlético Madrid, however, fell short on goal difference, finishing third and failing to qualify.
Meanwhile, Seattle Sounders lost all three of their group-stage matches, ending at the bottom of Group B.
