Palmeiras and Chelsea Advance to Club World Cup Quarterfinals After Extra-Time Wins

June 29th – In today's two Club World Cup Round of 16 matches, Palmeiras and Chelsea both secured victories in extra time, eliminating their opponents Botafogo and Benfica, respectively.
With these results, the first quarterfinal matchup of this year's tournament has been confirmed:
Palmeiras vs. Chelsea
The match will take place on July 5th at 9:00 AM (Beijing Time).
This will be a rematch of the 2021 Club World Cup final (held in early 2022), where Chelsea triumphed 2-1 after extra time. In that game, Vega (still with Palmeiras) scored for the Brazilian side, while Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz found the net for Chelsea.
