Galatasaray and Napoli Locked in Victor Osimhen Transfer Talks

July 15, 2025 – Negotiations over the future of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen have hit a snag as Galatasaray and Napoli remain at odds over payment terms. The 26-year-old, who impressed during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances, is at the center of a potential €75 million transfer. Napoli, his parent club, have proposed a deal involving €40 million upfront and €35 million by 2026, including a sell-on clause.
However, Galatasaray has countered with an offer to pay €35 million by 2027, firmly rejecting the sell-on clause. The deadlock persists as both clubs leverage their financial strategies. Napoli, under new management, are keen to offload Osimhen, whose contract runs until 2026, while Galatasaray benefits from Turkey’s extended transfer window, open until September 16, 2025. Osimhen’s standout performance in the Süper Lig has boosted his market value, estimated at €70 million by Transfermarkt, though his future hinges on these negotiations.
Industry sources indicate talks will continue if Napoli adjusts its demands. The outcome could reshape both clubs’ attacking lineups, with Osimhen’s preference for Galatasaray’s style adding intrigue to this high-stakes transfer saga.
