PSG Secures Future with Willian Pacho Contract Extension

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is finalizing a significant contract extension for Ecuadorian defender Willian Pacho, extending his stay with the club until June 2030, according to reports from L’Équipe. The new deal includes a substantial salary increase, reflecting Pacho’s growing importance to the team. Acquired from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2024 for €40 million, the 24-year-old has quickly become a cornerstone of PSG’s defense under manager Luis Enrique.
Pacho, who celebrated his birthday on October 16, has made 64 appearances for the club, contributing to their triumphant 2024-25 season, which included Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League titles. Sporting director Luis Campos played a pivotal role in securing the transfer, recognizing Pacho’s potential as a key part of the squad’s future. The extension comes as PSG looks to solidify its defense following the departure of Kylian Mbappé, focusing on nurturing young talent.
The decision also counters interest from clubs like Liverpool, who had monitored the versatile defender. Pacho’s robust performances, including his aerial dominance and tackling prowess, have earned him praise, with his partnership alongside captain Marquinhos proving vital. This move underscores PSG’s strategy to build a competitive squad for years to come.
