RCD Espanyol secured a vital three points on the road, defeating Real Oviedo 2-0 at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere on Friday night in a La Liga clash. The result spoiled Luis Carrión's return to the Asturian bench, handing the home side another frustrating defeat in front of their fans.

In the 70th minute, veteran striker Kike García netted the opener for Espanyol. The goal, initially subject to VAR review, was eventually confirmed, delivering a significant blow to the host's morale. The decisive goal came in the 82nd minute when Pere Milla struck a superb effort into the top corner following an assist from Omar El Hilali, securing the 2-0 victory.
