Nottingham Forest Appoints Sean Dyche as New Manager Until 2027

Nottingham Forest has secured a verbal agreement with Sean Dyche to become the club’s new manager, signing a contract that will run until June 2027. The announcement, confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on October 20, 2025, marks the third managerial change for the club this season following the recent dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. The 54-year-old, a former Everton coach with deep roots as a lifelong Forest supporter from nearby Mansfield, steps in to address the team’s precarious 15th-place standing in the Premier League.
Dyche’s appointment comes after Postecoglou’s 39-day tenure ended with an eight-game winless streak, culminating in a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on October 18. Known for his pragmatic approach, Dyche previously guided Burnley to Europa League qualification and stabilized Everton on a tight budget. He is expected to bring former Forest legends Ian Woan and Steve Stone onto his staff to bolster the backroom team ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with FC Porto.
Club owner Evangelos Marinakis views Dyche as the ideal candidate to restore stability and steer Forest away from relegation danger, with final paperwork anticipated to be completed later today, October 21, 2025.
