Olympique Lyon Initiates Loan Talks for Real Madrid’s Endrick

Olympique Lyon has opened negotiations with Real Madrid to secure a January loan for Brazilian striker Endrick, marking a potential turning point for the 19-year-old talent. Since his €47.5 million transfer from Palmeiras in July 2024, Endrick has struggled for game time at the Santiago Bernabéu, making only eight appearances and scoring two goals amidst stiff competition from stars like Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior.
The Ligue 1 club has presented a detailed plan to Endrick, offering him a starting role as their No. 9, with Lyon agreeing to cover his €400,000 monthly salary and a loan fee. This move aligns with Lyon’s strategy to nurture young South American talent, drawing on their history with players like Karim Benzema. Real Madrid, while committed to Endrick until 2030, appears open to the loan to support his development ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Endrick, who has expressed openness to the proposal, sees the move as a chance to gain regular minutes and refine his skills. Talks are ongoing, with Lyon positioning itself as the frontrunner, though other clubs like Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest. A decision is expected within the next month.
