​New Revenue Stream: FIFA Selling World Cup Parking Passes for Up to $175 Per Game

November 11 – According to *The Athletic*, FIFA is selling parking spaces around 2026 World Cup venues for $75 to $175 per match – a price that even exceeds the cost of tickets for some games in previous World Cups.  

FIFA recently launched the "Official World Cup Parking Website," where fans must purchase parking passes separately, with each pass priced per match day. Pre-sales have begun for venues including Miami Gardens, Kansas City, Arlington, Boston, and Philadelphia:  
- Group stage and Round of 16 matches: $75–$115  
- Quarterfinals: $125–$145  
- Semifinals and Third-Place Match: Up to $175  

The official partner for this initiative is the UK-based tech company JustPark. With some stadium parking areas reserved for security or hospitality activities, the limited availability has sparked criticism from fans, who accuse FIFA of "profiteering from scarcity." 

Notably, Category 3 tickets for group stage matches at the 2022 Qatar World Cup were priced at just $69 (not adjusted for inflation), meaning parking passes for the 2026 edition already surpass that price.  

Industry analysis suggests FIFA is leveraging multiple commercialization channels – including tickets, collectibles, resale platforms, and parking systems – in an effort to achieve record-breaking revenue exceeding $13 billion in 2026.
