​Journalist: Barcelona Submit €45m Opening Bid for Bastoni; Inter Demand €60m

April 3 – According to renowned Italian transfer journalist Orazio Accomando, speaking on Sportmediaset, Barcelona's pursuit of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni is progressing.

Orazio reports that Barcelona's interest in Bastoni is concrete, and for the first time, the player has signaled willingness to listen to offers. Chelsea made contact as early as last summer, but both the player and Inter firmly rejected any possibility at that time.

Regarding the transfer fee, Inter's position is clear: they want at least €60 million. The club believes that despite some controversial incidents involving the player over the past two months, he remains an important member of the team and a key defensive figure. Orazio reveals that Barcelona have made an initial approach with a bid of approximately €45 million – an amount Inter consider too low. However, negotiations have not broken down, as this marks the first time in recent years that the possibility of a Bastoni transfer has entered substantive discussions.

On the wage front, if a transfer materializes, Bastoni is expected to earn around €7 million per season including bonuses – a significant increase from his current €5 million net annual salary at Inter, representing a raise of at least €2 million.

Additionally, the player himself is keen on a new sporting challenge, including playing in a different league and competing for honors at a top club. Both Barcelona and Inter have title ambitions in their respective leagues and the Champions League.
