Bellingham Double Sends England into World Cup Semis After 2-1 Extra-Time Drama

Jude Bellingham rescued England once again, scoring twice to secure a thrilling 2-1 extra-time comeback victory over Norway at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, booking the Three Lions a spot in the 2026 World Cup semifinals.
Thomas Tuchel’s men found themselves trailing in the 36th minute when Norway’s Andreas Schjelderup unleashed a spectacular long-range strike into the top corner. However, England responded just before the break. In first-half stoppage time, Bellingham controlled a pass from Anthony Gordon inside the box and calmly slotted home the equalizer.
With both teams deadlocked at 1-1 after 90 minutes, the match headed into extra time. It took England just three minutes to find the winner. Morgan Rogers’ fierce shot was parried by the Norwegian goalkeeper, and Bellingham reacted quickest to tap in the rebound, sealing his brace and the victory.
Despite heavy pressure, England's defense held firm, completely neutralizing Norway’s star striker Erling Haaland, who was substituted late in extra time. England now marches on to the semifinals in Atlanta on July 15, where they will face either Argentina or Switzerland.
