Enciso Goal Earns Ipswich Tense Draw Against Nottingham Forest

Julio Enciso scored his first goal since returning to Ipswich Town as the Tractor Boys fought back to secure a hard-earned 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at Portman Road.

The visitors started clinical, breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute. Neco Williams connected beautifully with a precise Daniel Munoz cross, filtering a dynamic volley past the goalkeeper to give Forest an early lead. Ipswich struggled to find their rhythm but capitalized on a defensive blunder in the 41st minute. Forest center-back Nikola Milenkovic misjudged a backpass, allowing a persistent Enciso to intercept and calmly slot home the equalizer.

The second half was defined by tactical discipline and high VAR drama. Shortly after the restart, Ipswich defender Issa Diop fouled James McAtee. Forest players vehemently appealed for a red card, claiming Diop was the last man. However, following a lengthy VAR review, the referee upheld the initial yellow card decision.

Forest dominated the remaining periods, threatening frequently through counter-attacks. Yet, despite registering a superior expected goals metric, they failed to convert late opportunities. Ipswich held firm under heavy pressure to split the points, leaving both sides to settle for a gritty Premier League stalemate.
