Fiorentina Triumph in Six-Goal Thriller to Edge Past Sassuolo 4-2

Fiorentina snapped their five-match winless streak in Serie A with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Sassuolo in an action-packed encounter. The hosts initially took the lead in the 25th minute when Armand Laurienté finished a sharp pass from Sebastiano Esposito. However, Fiorentina responded just before halftime as Mateo Pellegrino bundled home an equalizer during a chaotic penalty box scramble.

The Viola carried that momentum into the second half, with Alieu Njie firing them ahead in the 50th minute. Sassuolo refused to back down, and Laurienté struck again in the 65th minute on a swift counterattack to level the score at 2-2.

The turning point arrived from the bench. In the 79th minute, Real Madrid loanee Franco Mastantuono restored Fiorentina's lead with a precise low strike from the edge of the area. Deep into stoppage time, substitute defender Víctor Valdepeñas sealed the three points with a clinical finish.

The vital away victory lifts Fiorentina out of the relegation zone, moving them level on eight points with Sassuolo. Conversely, Sassuolo's defensive frailties continue to plague them, having now conceded a league-worst 26 goals while remaining winless in their last six outings.
