Cunha Double Completes Stunning Second-Half Comeback as Man United Beats Roma 3-2

Manchester United produced a classic European comeback at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, recovering from two goals down at half-time to defeat AS Roma 3-2 in a thrilling Champions League encounter. The victory ends a grueling nine-match winless streak for the Red Devils and provides much-needed relief for under-fire manager Michael Carrick.

The hosts endured a nightmare start under the Old Trafford lights. AS Roma completely dominated the opening exchanges, breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute through a clinical finish from Matías Soulé. Just six minutes later, the Italian side doubled their advantage when Donyell Malen calmly converted a penalty after a handball inside the box, leaving the home crowd in stunned silence at the interval.

However, United emerged a transformed side after the break. In the 58th minute, captain Bruno Fernandes handed his team a lifeline, smashing home a retaken penalty into the top corner after Matheus Cunha was fouled in the area.

The stage was then set for Cunha to become the ultimate hero. The Brazilian forward equalized in the 83rd minute by punishing a defensive error, before completing a sensational turnaround three minutes later by hammering home a brilliant pass from substitute Shea Lacey. Despite Cunha receiving a late red card for a second bookable offense, United held on to secure a legendary 3-2 victory.
