Frosinone Demolishes Lecce 5-1 in Historic Serie A Masterclass

Frosinone continued their sensational Serie A campaign with a breathtaking 5-1 demolition of Lecce at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, skyrocketing to sixth place in the standings.

The hosts established total dominance in the first half. Midfielder Matteo Cichella ignited the stadium in the 25th minute, firing home a precise cutback from Fares Ghedjemis to score his first-ever Serie A goal. Just before the interval, Giacomo Calò doubled the lead from the penalty spot after a costly defensive error by the visitors.

Frosinone refused to lift their foot off the gas in the second half. In the 59th minute, league-leading goalscorer Antonio Raimondo netted his ninth of the season with a clinical left-footed strike. Super-sub Daniel Bîrligea then took center stage, tapping in the fourth in the 72nd minute.

Though Joël Monteiro grabbed a late consolation goal for a demoralized Lecce side in the 82nd minute, Bîrligea had the final say. Deep into stoppage time, the Romanian forward struck again from close range to complete his brace and seal a historic victory. Frosinone now sits comfortably with 17 points, while Lecce slides closer to the relegation zone.
