Bayern Munich Set to Extend Joshua Kimmich's Contract Amid Positive Discussions

On March 7, German media outlet Bild reported that following the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen (which ended 3-0), Bayern Munich’s supervisory board, along with sports director Max Eberl (51) and Christopher Flohr (47), held a meeting this Thursday to discuss the future of Joshua Kimmich (30), whose contract expires this summer.
Bild reveals that Kimmich is set to extend his contract.
Excitingly, whether the club will present a new offer to Kimmich and the nature of that offer will not solely depend on Max Eberl. For significant financial decisions, such as transfers or contract renewals with top players, the supervisory board led by Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge holds the final say.
This explains the sudden high-level secret meeting within Bayern’s management. Reports suggest that the internal discussions were very positive.
As per current plans, the supervisory board has agreed for Kimmich to sign a new four-year contract! This announcement is expected to be made this week.
After last night's match, when asked about the negotiations, Kimmich stated, "A decision will be made soon, but the decision is clearly not in my hands."
It now seems that a positive outcome is on the horizon...
