Real Madrid and FIFA Align on the Importance of the Club World Cup

Based on reports from the Spanish media Relevo, FIFA and Real Madrid have aligned in their view of the Club World Cup as an important tournament. This attitude from Real Madrid has reassured FIFA, which is concerned that participating clubs might treat it as just another pre-season match.
To ensure the seriousness of the event, FIFA has requested that all involved take the matches seriously, ensuring that starting players are on the field and that they genuinely engage in the competition. This is a heavily invested tournament, with Real Madrid being one of the teams with the highest base income, expected to exceed €35 million.
Additionally, the prize structure for the Club World Cup is very appealing: each group stage victory earns €1.8 million, while the knockout stage offers even larger sums: €6.9 million for reaching the Round of 16, €12.1 million for the quarter-finals, €19.4 million for the semi-finals, €27.7 million for the final, and €37 million for winning. If Real Madrid wins, they could earn a total of €143.5 million.
According to Cadena Cope, Real Madrid will propose the highest bonus scheme of the season for the Club World Cup, which is expected to help the club maintain revenue above €1 billion and possibly approach €1.2 billion, a figure that would break their own record. Achieving this goal will be crucial for a strong performance in the Club World Cup.
