Chelsea and Manchester City Target Torino's Goalkeeper Milinković

Chelsea and Manchester City Target Torino's Goalkeeper Milinković
According to a recent report by Italian media outlet Tuttosport, both English Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City have shown strong interest in Torino's goalkeeper, Vanja Milinković. However, to successfully sign the talented keeper, both clubs must be prepared to pay the €20 million release clause stipulated in his contract.

The report further indicates that Chelsea's interest in Milinković stems from dissatisfaction with their current goalkeepers, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Robert Sánchez. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has highly praised Milinković's abilities and considers him the primary target for the starting goalkeeper position in the upcoming season, hoping he will provide greater stability to the team's defense.

Milinković not only excels with his footwork but also displays high levels of skill in goalkeeping techniques, stability, timing for interceptions, and penalty-saving abilities. These impressive skills are precisely what top clubs like Chelsea value, motivating them to pay a significant release fee to acquire him.

However, Torino currently has no intention of selling Milinković. His existing contract runs until 2026, and the club holds an additional one-year extension option. Notably, Milinković's contract does include a special release clause that allows any club to sign him for €20 million before the end of July.

In addition to Chelsea, Manchester City has also maintained a long-standing interest in Milinković. With the current form of their goalkeeper Ederson declining significantly, City is actively seeking a replacement, and Milinković is undoubtedly one of their ideal candidates.
