Atlético Madrid Secure Marc Pubill in €20m Transfer from Almería

Atlético Madrid have finalized the signing of promising Spanish U21 right-back Marc Pubill from UD Almería for a €20 million package, including add-ons, marking a significant coup in the transfer market. The deal, confirmed yesterday, also includes a 15% sell-on clause for Almería, ensuring future financial benefits if Pubill moves again.The 22-year-old defender, who recently won Olympic gold with Spain in 2024, has emerged as a key target for Atlético after their pursuit of Jesús Areso collapsed when he joined Athletic Club. Pubill’s transfer follows rapid negotiations, outpacing interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, AC Milan, and Juventus. He is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2030, pending a medical examination.

Pubill brings a strong resume, having played 63 matches for Almería since joining from Levante in 2023, where he scored two goals and provided eight assists. His La Liga debut came with Levante in 2021, showcasing his early potential.
