Barcelona 3-1 Atlético Madrid: Barça overturn early deficit to extend La Liga lead

Barcelona produced a commanding second-half display to defeat Atlético Madrid 3-1 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Tuesday night, moving four points clear at the top of La Liga.
The visitors struck first through Álex Baena in the 20th minute, capitalising on a quick counter-attack to silence the home crowd. However, Hansi Flick’s side responded emphatically. Raphinha equalised six minutes later with a clinical low finish, before Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty in the 36th minute after being fouled by José María Giménez.
Dani Olmo effectively sealed the points in the 65th minute, curling a superb effort into the far corner following a swift exchange with Lamine Yamal. Ferran Torres added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time, slotting home after a defensive error.
The victory marks Barcelona’s first triumph over a direct title rival this season and extends their unbeaten league run to 15 matches. Atlético, despite the defeat, remain in the Champions League places but now trail the leaders by ten points.
Raphinha’s continued excellence—he has now been directly involved in seven goals across his last seven league appearances—underlined Barça’s attacking potency as they head into a demanding December schedule with renewed confidence.
