Manchester City Edge Fulham in Nine-Goal Thriller to Close Gap on Arsenal

Manchester City reclaimed second place in the Premier League with a dramatic 5-4 victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night, reducing the deficit to leaders Arsenal to just two points.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 12th minute, converting a penalty to register his 100th Premier League goal in only his 105th appearance – the fastest century in the competition’s history. Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden quickly added to the lead, putting City 3-0 ahead inside 25 minutes. Mateo Kovačić made it 4-0 before half-time, and Foden’s second shortly after the restart appeared to have sealed a routine win.
However, Fulham mounted a stunning comeback. Samuel Chukwueze pulled one back in the 62nd minute and completed his brace ten minutes later. Raúl Jiménez headed in a third with twelve minutes remaining, setting up a frantic finale. City held firm through eight minutes of added time to secure all three points.
The result extends City’s unbeaten league run to twelve matches and keeps the pressure on Arsenal ahead of the busy festive period. Fulham remain 10th despite the defeat, having now scored in each of their last ten away games.
