Atlético Madrid Complete Transfer of Javi Galán to Osasuna

Atlético Madrid have officially announced the permanent transfer of left-back Javi Galán to LaLiga rivals Osasuna, concluding the 31-year-old's two-and-a-half-year spell at the club.

The deal, confirmed on December 24, 2025, sees Osasuna pay an initial fee of €500,000 for the Extremaduran defender. Galán has signed a contract until June 30, 2026, with potential add-ons of €500,000 for each additional season he remains at the club, provided Osasuna maintain their top-flight status.

Galán joined Atlético from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2023 for a reported €5 million but struggled for consistent minutes under Diego Simeone. After a loan spell at Real Sociedad in the second half of the 2023/24 season, he featured in 56 official matches for Atlético, including 47 appearances following his return. However, increased competition from new signings like Dávid Hancko and Matteo Ruggeri limited him to just seven games and 314 minutes this campaign.

The move provides Galán with an opportunity for regular playing time at Osasuna, who sit 12th in LaLiga—three points above the relegation zone and six from European spots.
