Morgan Pledges: If Arsenal Win Champions League, I Will Celebrate Wearing Full Kit Like Terry

May 30 – Arsenal's famous supporter and renowned broadcaster Piers Morgan has stated that if the Gunners win the Champions League, he will emulate John Terry by celebrating in a full Arsenal kit.

On Saturday Beijing time, Mikel Arteta's side will face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest. The North London club are already Premier League champions this season, but have never won the European Cup, while PSG are aiming to defend their Champions League title.

Morgan was previously seen at Selhurst Park celebrating the Premier League title with the players, and he has now promised to go even bigger if Arsenal secure the Champions League.

Morgan said: "Two months ago, I bought four tickets at full price. I just wanted to go and witness the title celebration, but then I was invited into the directors' lounge, had a great time, met all the Arsenal players, and was then allowed onto the pitch to take part in the trophy ceremony."

"Any Arsenal fan in that moment would not have refused. Like Conor McGregor said, I make no apology for it. If Arsenal win the Champions League tomorrow night, I will bring a full Arsenal kit to Budapest. And if the team wins, I will recreate exactly what John Terry did back in the day."

It is known that in the 2012 Champions League final, despite being suspended and unable to play, Terry appeared in full Chelsea kit to lift the trophy – a moment that became iconic in football.

Morgan has faced criticism in recent days for appearing at Arsenal's title celebrations and has been forced to respond. One social media user questioned: "Why did Morgan and his group get onto the pitch? Hate it when celebrity fans jump on the bandwagon, especially when he repeatedly called for Arteta to be sacked years ago."

Morgan replied: "Back in early March, I had a feeling this club I've supported for 55 years was about to have a historic moment, so I bought four tickets in advance. As for Arteta, he proved me and many others wrong – and I couldn't be happier about it."

Another fan asked why Morgan was wearing Declan Rice's winners' medal. Morgan responded: "I didn't pay Rice to run over and put his medal round my neck for a photo, but he did it himself – and I was absolutely delighted."
