Parma Shock Atalanta with Clinical 3-0 Victory in Bergamo

Parma pulled off the upset of the Serie A weekend with a stunning 3-0 victory over Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, heightening the pressure on the hosts. Despite Atalanta dominating the early possession and creating numerous chances, Parma's defense held firm before striking right before the interval. In the 41st minute, Giovanni Fabbian capitalized on a corner kick, heading home from close range to give the visitors a surprise lead.

Things went from bad to worse for Atalanta immediately after the restart. In the 47th minute, a swift Parma counterattack forced veteran defender Davide Zappacosta into a rushed clearance, resulting in an unfortunate own goal. The historic victory was sealed in the 58th minute when 18-year-old forward Simone Lontani received a pass from Fabbian and curled a magnificent strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The clinical away win marks a vital turning point for manager Alberto Gilardino, lifting Parma to 15th in the standings with eight points. Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri's Atalanta left the pitch to loud boos from their home fans, dropping to 13th place after extending their winless league run to four matches.
