Liverpool's Contract Negotiations: Salah and Van Dijk's Future Uncertain

On April 1, ESPN's well-known reporter Mark Ogden wrote a column discussing Liverpool's situation regarding the contracts of two key players, Salah and Van Dijk.
With Salah's future at Liverpool still unresolved, the focus for the former Chelsea and Roma forward is on what will happen next and where he will play next season. This has been a recurring topic throughout Liverpool's season. Additionally, Salah, along with teammates Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, has entered the final months of their existing contracts, and none have begun negotiations for new agreements.
According to sources who spoke exclusively to ESPN, the main point of contention in the contract negotiations between Liverpool and Salah, as well as Van Dijk, revolves around the length of the contract. Salah's performance this season has been among the best since he joined Liverpool, showcasing high competitive levels and excellent form on the pitch. However, despite his outstanding performance, Liverpool maintains a cautious approach towards players nearing their 30s, being particularly careful when considering the contract length.
On the other hand, transfer rumors regarding Real Madrid have garnered significant attention. Sources from Real Madrid indicate that the Spanish giants are optimistic about signing Liverpool's young right-back, Alexander-Arnold, this summer.
This season, Salah has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists in 43 appearances, while Liverpool captain Van Dijk has made 41 appearances across all competitions, remaining a cornerstone of the team's defense.
