Barcelona Withdraws from La Liga Representative Committee

On April 8, FC Barcelona announced its withdrawal from the La Liga Representative Committee. In an official statement, the club expressed strong demands for absolute confidentiality regarding the financial information submitted to La Liga and voiced their "surprise and outrage" at an announcement made by La Liga on April 2.

This announcement involved operational information related to VIP box enterprises submitted by Barcelona in December, which the club claims was disclosed without their consent, violating La Liga's confidentiality obligations.

Barcelona emphasized that the public release of the club's financial data and unfavorable decisions against them constitutes a serious violation of Article 5 of the Budgeting Norms regarding confidentiality. The club pointed out that this disclosure has led to widespread defamatory media coverage, questioning the club's competitive legitimacy.

Additionally, Barcelona expressed strong opposition to comments made by La Liga President Javier Tebas regarding the registration issues of players Olmo and Pau Victor. The club clarified that both players are legally registered, and the National Sports Council (CSD) confirmed their legitimacy on April 3, 2025. Barcelona deemed Tebas's remarks as "a clear attempt to undermine stability" and called for La Liga to refrain from making such irresponsible comments.

To defend its rights, Barcelona announced legal action and requested La Liga to:
1.Avoid public disclosure of any financial information provided by Barcelona in the future.
2.Cease any public actions or decisions related to Barcelona and its players.
3.Immediately remove the related announcement from the La Liga official website.

The club also stated that despite La Liga's appeal against the CSD's resolution, Barcelona will continue to monitor and respond to this appeal, urging La Liga not to influence legal decisions through careless public statements. Ultimately, due to serious disagreements with La Liga, the club has decided to withdraw from its current position on the La Liga Representative Committee.
